"WHEREAS, there is a need in the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, to define the specific requirements for an accessory building in residential neighborhoods throughout the City of Jacksonville; and, "WHEREAS, a cUlLllLtittee from the Jacksonville Planning CUlLllLtission, the Jacksonville City Council and interested citizens has made certain reculLlLuendations to amend the existing Zoning Ordinance to reflect specific requirements for accessory buildings; NOW, THEREFORE, R~ IT ORDAINJ:ill BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION 1: Chapter Eighteen (18) of the City of Jacksonville r~icipal Code, shall be amended to include the following subsections: ACCt.;SSORY BUILDINGS 18.86.010 18.86.020 18.86.030 Df~finition of an ACCE~SSODJ Bu.ilding.. S~~are Foot Limitations. Height L~itations. 18.86.010 Definition of an Accessory Building. Accessory Building - Any subordinate : building or portion of a main building of which the use is clearly incidental to that of the principal structllre. 18.86.020 Square Foot Limitations. Accessory Buildings may occupy no more than thirty percent (30%) of the existing rear yard not to exceed six hundred fifty (650) squ~re feet and shall not be built closer than five (5) feet to tile owner's property line or in cUlLLtJliance with a subdivision's Bill of Assurance, whichever is greater. 18.86.030 Height Limitations. An Accessory building in residential area shall not exceed the height of the principal structure or twenty-five (25) feet, ridge height, whichever is less.
