ORDINANCE NO. 8 4 6 (#37-86)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NUMBER 728, 760, AND 806, FIXING
AND IMPOSING THE AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF FEES, CHARGES AND SPECIAL
TAXES TO BE PAID THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, BY ARKANSAS
LOUISIANA GAS COMPANY AND THE METHOD OF PAYMENT THEREOF; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. It is hereby declared that Ordinances Number
728, 760, and 806 should be amended as set forth below.
SECTION 2. Section 1 of said Ordinance Number 728 and
Section 2 of said Ordinances Number 760 and Number 806 are hereby
amended to read as follows:
"The manufacture, sale, furnishing, transmission and
distribution of natural gas and energy by the Arkansas Louisiana
Gas Company within the City is hereby declared a special privilege
and for such privilege the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company shall
pay to the City as follows:
For the year 1987, the Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company
shall pay in monthly installments beginning January 1987,
the sum of Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000.00).
Payments shall continue in succeeding years unless sooner
modified."
In all other respects, said Ordinances shall remain unchanged.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4. It is hereby found by the Jacksonville City
Council that there is an urgent need for additional revenues for
the City. Therefore, an emergency is declared to exist, and this
Ordinance being necessary for the preservation and advancement of
the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage.
