ORDINANCE NO.

AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS TO ADOPT THE STANDARD
HOUSING CODES RELATING TO ANY HOUSING PROJECT(S) THAT INVOLVE THE JACKSONVILLE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Jacksonville Community Development agency
to adopt the Standard Housing Code for application to all of it's housing projects,
rehabilitation or otherwise; and
WHEREAS, the Standard Housing Code will enable the Community Development
Agency to provide proper inspection methods and standards for all rehabilitation
projects within the corporate limits of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
WHEREAS, adoption of the Standard Housing Code will provide for the public
safety, health and general welfare in providing an efficient and effective method
for the inspection of all rehabilitation projects of the Jacksonville Community
Development Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
Section 1: The Standard Housing Code, published by the Southern Building
Code Congress International, Inc. is hereby incorporated into the Jacksonville
Municipal Code for the exclusive purpose of providing any and all necessary re-
quirements for inspection and approval of any rehabilitation projects of the
Jacksonville Community Development Agency.
Section 2: Enforcement of the Standard Housing Code shall be under the
direction of the (Coordinator) of the Jacksonville Community Development Agency.
Section 3: The Code Enforcement Officer or his authorized agent(s) are
hereby granted the authority to supervise and/or perform any and all inspections
of rehabilitation projects of the Jacksonville Community Development Agency or
delegate said authority to the appropriate city official.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall in no way apply to housing and building
projects other than those under the direction of the Jacksonville Community
Development Agency.
Section 5: Any ordinance in conflict herewith is specifically repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage.
