ORDINANCE NO. 925
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THR PIJRPOSE OF
REPAIRING THE SWIMMING POOL FOR THE CI~Y OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS~ DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: AND, FOR O~HER PTJRPOSRS.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to repair ana par-
tially replace the fiberglass lining of the pool at 201 Martin
street: and,
WHEREAS, Cabot Industries of Cabot, Arkansas, is a contrac-
tor capable of performing this type of repair work~ and,
WHEREAS, Cabot Industries of Cabot, Arkansas, can supply
competitive prices~
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, ~HA~:
SECTION ONE: Competitive bidding for the purpose of
repairing the City swimming pool would be costly and non-
productive and time consuming, making said competitive bidding
unfeasible and impractical.
SECTION TWO: Competitive bidding is hereby waived, pursuant
to Arkansas Code of 1987 Annotated ~14-58~'_{, for the purpose of
repairing the City swimming pool, and authorization is given to
the Park and Recreation Department Director to enter into a
contract with Cabot Industries, Cabot, Arkansas, to provide said
repair work in the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred Sixty
Do 11 a r s ($ 7 , 560 . 00) .
SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
SECTION FOUR: It being necessary to protect the public
health, safety, and welfare by providing proper recreational
facilities within the city limits of the City of Jacksonville, it
is hereby declared that an emergency exists ana this Ordinance
shall be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage.-
