ORDINANCE NO. 909 (#10-89)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 538, SPECIFICALLY CODIFIED AS
JACKSONVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 8.08.050; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to maintain regular
inspections of all premises, alleys, vacant lots and/or properties
to insure healthy and sanitary conditions throughout the city
limits of the City of Jacksonville; and,
WHEREAS, the previous ordinance addressing these inspec-
tions does not provide for expedient and efficient resolution to
those areas determined to contain unsightly and/or unsanitary con-
ditions; and
WHEREAS, to amend said ordinance to require a quicker
response time by property owner(s) will provide for expedient and
efficient control of these unwanted areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:

shall be amended to reduce the time period after notification to
occupant(s) and/or property owner(s) for remedial action from
twenty (20) days to five (5) days.
SECTION TWO: All other provisions contained in Section
8.08.50-of--the--Jacksonville Municipal Code not in conflict
herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall ta.ke effect and be in
force fici~-~n~-aft~i its date of passage.
SECTION FOUR: It being necessary to protect the public
health,-~af~f~~ arid welfare by providing healthy and sanitary con-
ditions within the city limits of the City of Jacksonville, it is
hereby declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance shall
be in force and take effect immediately upon its passage.
