AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCES NO. 201, 409, AND 717, SPECIFI-
CALLY CODIFIED ON THE JACKSONVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE IN SECTIONS
16.04.060, 16.08.580, 16.088600, AND 16.12.030; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it has been over five (5) years since fees for
building inspections, permits, and applications for construction
have been modified or amended. Because of the increase in the
costs of providing said services, it is necessary for the City of
Jacksonville to modify these rates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: Section 16.04.060 of the Jacksonville
Municipaf'-Code- shall hereby be amended to read as follows:
16.04.060
~~ildin9 permit Fees
Fees for Building permits shall be based upon the estimated
value of the construction, including material and labor as
follows:
A. All construction shall be of a permanent character.
The fees for such permit shall be according to the
following:
1. $10.00 minimum, to cover up to the first
$1,000.00 of valuation of construction; and,
2. $ 2.00 per $1,000.00 valuation or part thereof
in excess of the first $1,000.00.
B. All construction shall presumed to be of the minimum
value of $32.00 per square foot of the heated and cooled
area covered by the floor plan.
SECTION TWO: Section 16.08.580 shall be amended to
include-tfie-l~llo~ing amendments, corrections, deletions, and
modifications:
16.08.580(b)
A price increase for reinspection fees of $5.00 inside the
city limits and $10.00 outside the city limits.
16.08.580(f)
In addition to the above charges, there shall be a $5.00
inspection fee per inspection visit. Any inspection requiring
travel outside the city limits shall be $10.00 per inspection.
Said fee shall be included in the permit fee and paid prior to
permit issuance.

In the event an inspector is required to make more than one
(1) visit for the purpose of reinspection of work due to violation
of code regulations or rules, wrong address, or any other irre-
gularities caused by the master electrician or his agents, a
charge of $5.00 per visit shall be made for each additional
required visit within the city limits or $10.00 for each addi-
tional visit outside the city limits.

SECTION THREE: Section 16.12.030 shall be amended to

A $5.00 per inspection fee for any inspections given inside
the city limits and a $10.00 per inspection fee for any inspec-
tions provided outside the city limits.

SECTION FOUR: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict hei~with are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION FIVE: It is hereby ascertained and declared that
an emerge"ncy exists and this ordinance, being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety,
shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
