ORDINANCE NO. 8 9 2 (#16-88)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 865 FIXING AND IMPOSING THE
AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF FEES, CHARGES AND SPECIAL TAXES TO BE PAID THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, BY THE GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY
OF THE SOUTHWEST AND THE METHOD OF PAYMENT THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SE~~."!'Q~_Q.~~: It is hereby declared that Ordinance Number
865 should be amended as set forth below.
SECTION TWO: Section Two of said Ordinance Number 865 is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"The sale, furnishing, transmission and distribution of the
telephone service by General Telephone Company within the
City is hereby declared to be a special privilege and for
such privilege the General Telephone Company shall pay to
the Ci ty an assessment amounting to ~w. _.._ percent
(8 %) of the gross revenues collected from all General
Telephone Company customers located within the corporate
limits of the City of Jacksonville.
These payments shall begin on February 1, 1989, and on the
first day of each month thereafter, based upon the previous
month consumption of all customers within the corporate
limits of the City of Jacksonville.
payments shall continue in succeeding years in the same manner as
described unless sooner modified."
SECTION THREE: In all other respects, said Ordinance shall
remain uncha'nged. --
SECTION FOUR: All Ordinances and/or parts of Ordinances
in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect on January 1, 1989.
