AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING PlJJ<1TAN STREET (GElVl!IRAL
LOCATION: PURITAN STREET LYING BETWEEN 1504 AND 1600
QUINCE HILL ROAD, JACKSONVILLE); AND, FOR OTHER PlJl<POSES.

WHEREAS, in the Jacksonville Planning Commission review of the
proposed closure and abandonment of Puritan Street, no opposition was
voiced to such a closure; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council hosted a public hearing January 7,
1999, with notice duly pu~)lished as required oy lawo At said hearing, the
adjoining property owner(s) and utility companies expressed consent to the
closing of saId street, subject to reservation of easement rights for said
utilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIlV.l!iD AND ENACTED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE: The real property, more particularly described as
follows, includes:
The street right-of-way located between Lot 1, Block 2 and Lot
12, Block 1 of the Jaxon Terrace Subdivision, City of
Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas. '
(GENERAL LOCATION: The street right-of-way between 1504 and 1600
Quince Hill Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas.)
Said property is hereby closed and vacated under the powers granted to
cities of the first class in the State of Arkansas, subject to reservation of
easement rights and privileges for private and municipal utility companies.
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby duly authorized and directed to enter
into an agreement with those adjoining and abutting property owner(s) of
the real property adjacent to Puritan Street to close and abandon said
street, WIth the real property described above reverting to said property
owner(s) in accordance with state law.
SECTION TWO: A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City
Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of the County and recorded
in the Deed Records of the County, here by amending the plat recorded on
November 1, 1920, in the PulaskI County Circuit Clerk Records.
SECTION THREE: All Ordinances or "Jarts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent o~" such conflicto
SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
