0698000152 RESOLUTION NO, 698 (#7 —13) A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT AND WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, IN APPLICATION OF AND IN FA VOR OF A NEW ARKANSAS VETERANS' CENTER IN JACKSONVILLE; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES, WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, joining in application for development and funding of a new Arkansas Veterans' Center in Jacksonville, supports the proposed site selection and believes that the City has all the necessary location requirements for the facilities to properly benefit all who might be in need of the proposed services at such a Center; and, WHEREAS, the Jacksonville City Council understands that donation of the site selection real estate is required as part of the application and proposal for the Jacksonville site of the Veterans' Center. In support of said proposal, the Council agrees and pledges to take the necessary steps required to secure transfer of the real property in question to the appropriate entity should Jacksonville's proposal be accepted and approved by the Arkansas Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Legislative Veterans' Home Task Force. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFJACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT; SECTION ONE; The City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, agrees to participate in the 2013 Application for development, creation, construction, and operation of a new Arkansas Veterans' Center to be located upon specified real estate in the City of Jacksonville as more specifically described on the attached Exhibit A. SECTION TWO; The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and documents necessary to support the development and construction of the above stated Project as outlined above and as required by any specific grant terms should the City of Jacksonville be the selected site for the project. SECTION THREE: The City Council pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the City of Jacksonville to cooperate with the Arkansas Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Legislative Veterans' Home Task Force to initiate action to implement this Project. 000153 Resolution No, 698 (#7-13) Page Two SECTION FOUR; Any other Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
