A RESOL UTION M SUPPORT OFAND A UTHORIZINGA TRANSFER OF
OWNERSHIP OF CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED HEREIN
(GENERAL DESCRIPTION. 400 - 500 BLOCK OF SOUTH REDMOND
ROAD A TITS INTERSECTIONS WITH MUNICIPAL DRIVEAND HWY.
67/167) TO CLARIFY AND CERTIFY PROPERTY LINES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITY IN FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF
SAID PROPERTY; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES,
WHEREAS, real property in the 400-500 blocks of South Redmond Road are
encompassed in the Arkansas Highway Department's plans for expansion and
improvement of Highway 67/167;
WHEREAS, after appropriate planning, the Arkansas Highway Commission has
determined it is in the best interest to expand and improve Highway 67/167 as it
traverses through the City of Jacksonville. While doing so, it has been established that
additional real property owned by the City of Jacksonville will be required to provide
adequate space for the roadway expansion and utility relocation; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council believes it to be in the best interests of the citizens of
Jacksonville to authorize transfer of certain real estate owned by the City after appropriate
levels of compensation to insure that the Arkansas Highway Department has title to that
additional property required for the Highway 67/167 Expansion Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BELT RESOL VED BY THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITY
OFIACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE; The City Council of Jacksonville, Arkansas, supports the
transfer of title to the real property described on the attached Exhibit A and as reflected
on the attached Exhibit B in exchange for appropriate compensation for the real property
therein described.
The City Council authorizes Mayor Fletcher and City Clerk Davitt to execute and
submit the appropriate documentation required to accomplish said property transfer(s),
but only on the condition that the amount of compensation, as negotiated and accepted
by Mayor Fletcher and/or his designated representative(s), will provide full and fair
compensation for the real property involved.

hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect from and
