RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 281 -81 APPROVING
SECTION 3 AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN FOR CONTRACTORS
AND BUSINESSES.
WHEREAS the City of Jacksonville is undertaking projects and
activities with Federal Financial assistance available through the
Entitlement Program under the provisions of Title I of the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Jacksonville is cognizant
of the responsibilities of the City for taking steps to expand employ-
ment opportunities for low- and moderate- income residents of the City
and for creating and maintaining a climate of equal employment oppor-
tunities; and
WHEREAS the City has prepared an Affirmative Action Plan for
Contractors and Businesses, dated April 16, 1987; and
WHEREAS the plan was considered at this meeting and found
acceptable for the intended purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
y 1. That the Affirmative Action Plan for Contractors and
') Businesses as. identified above be and hereby is approved as a re-
flection of the City's commitment to the expansion of employment
opportunities for low- and moderate - income residents of the City
and the development and maintenance of equal employment opportunities
through the Entitlement Program.
2. That the City clerk be and hereby is directed to file a
copy of the plan with this resolution in the official journal of the
actions of the City.
3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
