0376 RESOLUTION NO. 376 ( #17 -86) A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE JACKSONVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE AND IMPLEMENT AN ADMISSIONS CHARGE FOR SPECTATORS OF ALL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS TO BE HELD AT DUPREE PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, it is a common practice among surrounding cities and communities to charge admission for spectators of baseball and softball tournaments, providing an additional source of reve- nue for their parks and recreation departments; and, WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department has never charged any admission fees for spectators of baseball and softball tournaments at Dupree Park; and, WHEREAS, because of the loss of federal funds and state tax monies, it is necessary that the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department become more self supporting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: Section 1: That the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Commission is hereby allowed to examine, create, and implement a plan to charge an admission fee for spectators of any baseball and softball tournaments held at Dupree Park in order that the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department can become more self supporting. j Section 2: Any and all resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
