RESOLUTION NO. 3 6 1 (02 -86)
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, IN
SUPPORT OF THE PULASKI COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT'S
REQUEST FOR A 2 -MILL TAX INCREASE AND 3.6 MILL EXTENSION
WHEREAS, a strong public education system is the corner-
stone of our democratic society; and
WHEREAS, the strength of that public education system
is directly related to the level of commitment shown by the
local community; and
WHEREAS, the financial solidity of any organization, be
it private business, government or public education system,
is vital to the progress of that agency; and
WHEREAS, local commitment to public education must be
matched with financial commitment.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Jacksonville wholeheartedly supports the Pulaski
County Special School District's request for a 2 -mill tax
increase and 3.6 mill extension.
