RESOLUTION NO. 3 5 0 ( #15 -80)
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR
OF SOLID WASTE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION AGENCY APPEAR AT A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CITIZENS
OF JACKSONVILLE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND DATA REGARDING THE
INCINERATION OF SOLID WASTE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, the citizens of Jacksonville, Arkansas have
expressed concern over the possibility of an incineration process
being used within the city limits in order to dispose of solid
waste from the various chemical companies in the city; and
WHEREAS, the Enviromental Protection Agency has the
necessary data and information to ease the public's minds
regarding the incineration process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas request that the Assistant Administrator of Solid Waste
and Emergency Response of the Environmental Protection Agency
appear at a public hearing for the citizens of Jacksonville
to provide information and data regarding the incineration of
solid waste within the city limits of Jacksonville, Arkansas,

SECTION 2. The City Clerk is instructed to comply with
all statutory requirements in the notification of the citizens
of Jacksonville regarding this public hearing.
