RESOLUTION NO. 3 0 2 - 82
RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE NECESSITY OF
ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
AN ELDERLY ACTIVITIES CENTER AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY ENGINEER TO CERTIFY APPRAISALS AND
ESTABLISH JUST COMPENSATION FOR SAID PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the Community Development Program proposes the
construction of an Elderly Activities Center in the City of Jack-
__ sonville; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of certain property in the property
in the Sunnyside Hills Addition (Plot A) was undertaken by the
Jacksonville Elderly Activities Program for the purpose of con-
struction of said Center; and
WHEREAS, the Uniform Relocation Assitance and Real Property
Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (P.L. 19 -646) establishes uniform
policies and requirements for the acquisition of real property
under all Federally- assisted programs which are subject to said
Act; and
WHEREAS, a recipient of Community Development Block Grant
funds is required to certify appraisals and establish just compen-
sation for property acquired in connection with any project that
is assisted with said funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that
Section One. The acquisition of certain property in the
Sunnyside Hills Addition (Plot A) is hereby acknowledged
to be essential to the construction of the proposed Elderly
Activities Center thereon and to be in the best interests
of the City.
Section Two. The City Engineer is hereby authorized to
certify appraisals and establish just compensation for the
aforementioned property in accordance with the requirements
of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property
Acquisition Policies Act of 1970.
