RESOLUTION NO. 291 — 81
A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING COACH BILL REED, HIS STAFF, AND THE 1981
RED DEVIL FOOTBALL TEAM FOR GOING UNDEFEATED AND UNTIED DURING THE
1981 FOOTBALL SEASON.
WHEREAS, the 1981 Jacksonville High School football team, the
Red Devils, have played and won all eleven regular season football
games; and
WHEREAS, no other football team in the history of Jacksonville
High School has gone undefeated; and
WHEREAS, the 1981 Red Devils have been ranked as the number one
football team in the State of Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville has received favorable publicity
because of their performance; and
WHEREAS, the Red Devils have boosted the spirit of the school
and our city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Jacksonville, hereby congratulates Coach Bill Reed, his staff, and
the 1981 Red Devil football team for going undefeated and untied
during the 1981 football season.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council extends its best
wishes to the Red Devils as they begin the playoff games in their
quest for the Class AAAA State Championship.
