0235 RESOLUTION NO. 235 -79
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSON-
VILLE, ARKANSAS, APPROVING CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN
RELATIVE TO THE SMALL CITIES PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas is desirous of
undertaking a variety of community improvement activities with
funds available under the provisions of Title I of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that citizen participation is an
essential ingredient in the planning process that precedes effec-
tive implementation of meaningful community improvement activities;
and
WHEREAS, there has been prepared a Citizen Participation Plan
to guide the City's involvement in the Small Cities Program under
the Community Development Block Grant effort and said Plan has
been reviewed at this meeting of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
1. That the Citizen Participation Plan, Small Cities
Program , Community Development Block Grants, dated Janu-
ary, 1979, be and hereby is approved as the guiding docu-
ment by which the City shall implement the citizen partici-
pation process.
2. That the City Clerk be and hereby is directed tip file
a copy of this Plan with this resolution in the off
jounal of the actions of the governing body.
3. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
