RESOLUTION NO. 2 3 2- 7 8
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS, TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH,
EDUCATION, AND WELFARE FOR ACQUISITION OF 19.37 ACRES OF FED-
ERAL SURPLUS PROPERTY FOR I'MEDIATE USE BY PATHFINDERS SCHOOLS,
INC.
WHEREAS, certain real estate owned by the United States
of America consisting of 19.37 acres located on County Road
(Coffelt Road) just west of Highway 67 -167, located in the
County of Pulaski, State of Arkansas, has been declared surplus
and may be available for disposal by the Secretary of Health,
Education, and Welfare; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,. is in need of
said property and can immediately utilize same for Providing ser-
vices to the handicapped and developmentally disabled; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Jacksonville, Ark-
ansas, to submit an application to the Department of Health, Ed-
ucation, and Welfare for acquisition of the property or a por-
tion thereof, under the provision of PL 81 -152, and regulations
and procedures promulgated thereunder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, that James G. Reid, Mayor of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, be and he is hereby designated as the proper official
of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, by whom negotiations for
such acquisitions are to be prosecuted; he is hereby duly auth-
orized to do any and all things necessary and proper to procure
acquisition of, and to accept, the property approved for grant
by the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. The desig-
nated official will sign all documents pertaining to the ac-
quisition of the property and he or his successor in function
will sign annual utilization reports which will be required by
the Deed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, is ready, willing and able, through a free lease
agreement with Pathfinders Schools, Inc., and is hereby ready
to commence a proposed program within a period of time prescribed
by the regulations of the Department of Health, Education and
Welfare; to pay all external administrative expenses incident
to the transfer of said property; to assume immediate care and
maintenance thereof upon transfer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that two certified copies of this
Resolution be furnished to the Chief, Real Estate Planning &
Management, Facilities Engineering & Construction, Department
of Health, Education, and Welfare as evidence of the official
action of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, in authorizing the
application for, and acquisition of said property.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF we hereunto sign our names and attach

behalf this 14th day of December , 1978.
