0220 RESOLUTION NO. 220 - 78
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF PATHFINDER SCHOOL, INC.
IN THEIR REQUEST TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE
PULASKI COUNTY SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS.
TO BE DONATED BY THE PULASKI COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas
wholeheartedly supports the worthwhile efforts of Pathfinder, Inc.,
in their present efforts in locating two adult homes and a sheltered
workshop proposed to be built within the boundaries of property pre -
sently owned by Pulaski County Special School District; and
WHEREAS, the present facilities of Pathfinder, Inc., are highly
inadequate for future growth and expansion and cannot serve the pre-
sent needs of school enrollment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. Since the Pulaski County School Board has recently
postponed action on Pathfinder, Inc., request to use district land on
which to construct aforementioned facilities, the City Council of the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas hereby requests the Board to examine
the present needs of Pathfinder, Inc., and take into consideration the
instruction and good that has come from professional training and .
teaching techniques extended to the students during the time the
school has been in operation, and to also have empathy with the staff
and administration who are truly dedicated and qualified individuals.
The citizens of Jacksonville, Arkansas, also, through adoption of this
Resolution, express their desire, interest and concern for continuation
of the many excellent special training programs provided by Pathfinder,
Inc.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas
ugres and recommends most highly the Pulaski County School Board's
approval to donate acreage required in order to construct adequate
and necessary faciliites that will serve the special needs of special
citizens in this area of Pulaski County for years to come.
