0204 RESOLUTION NO. 204 - 77
WHEREAS, the City Council of Jacksonville, ARkansas, has been informed of the
cooperation between Metroplan and the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Depart-
ment in the development of a long -range plan to provide bus transit facilities
on the freeway system of the metropolitan area, and
WHEREAS, the increased use of bus transportation is an objective of this
community in order to achieve the national and local goals of energy conser-
vation and reduced traffic congestion,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, endorses this effort and encourages the Arkansas Highway and Trans-
portation Department to give full and proper consideration to the planning and
development of bus facilities on the area's freeway system.
