RESOLUTION NO. 198 -77
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS TO CONTRACT WITH FURLOW WATER USERS ASSOCIATION FOR
THE SALE OF WATER, AND FOR ALL OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it would be economically feasible for the City
of Jacksonville, Arkansas to sell water to the Furlow Water Users
Association if the Lonoke County Chancery Court would allow
additional pumping time from the City well fields in Lonoke
County, Arkansas;
WHEREAS, Said Furlow Water Users Association needs a
written commitment in order to pursue its application for funding
of its water improvement district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that;
Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas
is hereby authorized to sell water to the
Furlow Water Users
Association, provided that the Lonoke County Chancery Court shall
allow additional pumping time from the City well fields in Lonoke
County, so that the City will be assured of an adequate supply
of water for its existing customers and of the Furlow Water
Users Associations.
Section 2. The cost of water to be sold to said Furlow
Water Users Association shall be subject to the approval of the
City Council and shall be based upon the standard cost of service
rate method.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
