RESOLUTION NO. 184 -77
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DISCRETIONARY FUND
PRE - APPLICATION UNDER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM FOR 1977.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville is desirous of making
Application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for
a grant under the Discretionary Fund provisions of the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974 for the purpose of carring out
site improvement activities designed to preserve and conserve the
housing stock, principally for persons of lam -and moderate - income;
and
WHEREAS upon review of the community development needs and
recommendations stated by interested citizens at the two public
hearings, the City Council has determined that sanitary sewer
improvements within two areas of the City should be proposed � Y P in
said Application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS:
1. That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to submit in
behalf of the City a Pre - Application for Discretionary Fund Grant
under the Community Development Program on Standard Fbrm 424, dated
February 3, 1977, with related papers.
2. That the amount of the Application shall be $250,000; and
that these funds, if approved by the Department of Housing and
Urban Development, will be used principally for the completion of
the sanitary sewer improvements in the South Jacksonville area
and the installation of sanitary sewer service in the Toneyville
area,
3. That the City Council stands ready to authorize the
:filing of a full Application should the Department of Housing and
Urban Development invite said Application, and to make assurances
and certifications as needed under the Community Development
Program.
4. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
