0149 RESOLUTION NO. 1
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE 70TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
FOR ITS ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITIES AND TOWNS
OF ARKANSAS, AND FOR. OTHER PURPOSES,
WHEREAS, the 1975 Legislative Program of the Arkansas Municipal
League was a rather ambitious one; and
WHEREAS, several additional proposals for the benefit of municipal
residents were submitted at the urging of individual cities; and
WHEREAS, the 70th General Assembly of the State of Arkansas has
acted favorably on the vast majority of the bilis pertaining to cities and
towns; and
WHEREAS, all legislation pertaining to municipalities was ably
handled by individual legislators who volunteered to provide their services
on behalf of these bills for the citizens of our municipalities; and
WHEREAS, all members of the 70th General Assembly treated legis-
lation pertaining to cities and towns with fairness and equity; and
WHEREAS, our city: was quite capably represented by Senator Max
Howell and Representatives Mike Wilson, Art Givens and C. V. Ford in
the 70th General Assembly,
NOW, THEREFO RE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS;
That the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, hereby pledges itself to
use the new legislation provided by the 70th General Assembly to the best
of its ability to attain the purposes embodied in the new laws and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we hereby go on record expressing
our heartfelt thanks to all members of the 70th General Assembly for its
outstanding accomplishments.
