0648 RESOLUTION NO. 648 ( #10 - 2010)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE
TO SUBMITA GRANT FUND APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
FOR A JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT TO OBTAIN ARKANSAS WIRELESS
INFORMATION NETWORK (AWIN) RADIOS FOR THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is applying to the Department of
Justice for a Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), certain conditions must be met as part of
the application requirement; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of the public comment process, the City of Jacksonville has
identified and prioritized the emergency and everyday communication needs to support
components of the criminal justice system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT ::
SECTION ONE: The Mayor of the City is hereby authorized to submit a
grant application to the Department of Justice on behalf of the City of Jacksonville and
to expend such grant funds if awarded in the procurement of Arkansas Wireless
Information Network (AWIN) radios and necessary equipment related to said radios to
be used for the safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Jacksonville.
SECTION TWO: Any and all Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of said conflict.
