0124 1 97 RESOLUTION NO. /2/ 72. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT TO PROCEED WITH PLANS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF JOHNSON PARK, FIREMAN'S PARK AND DUPREE PARK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, there is a distinct need to further develop Johnson Park, Fireman's Park and Dupree Park by the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas; WHEREAS, the City Parks and Recreation Department has prepared suitable plans for such development to be submitted to the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation for fifty (50) per cent federal matching funds; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, has approved its own fifty (50) per cent contribution to such development project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that: Section 1. The City Parks and Recreation Department is hereby auth- orized and directed to proceed with development plans for Johnson Park, Fire- r - man's Park and Dupree Park, all in the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, in co- operation with the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. Section 2. This resolution being necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is decla ed to exist and this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after its passage.
