1725ORDINANCE NO. 1725 (#09 - 2023)
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT CREATING THE LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE
BASE REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE; APPOINTING CITY OF JACKSONVILLE
REPRESENTATIVES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock Air Force Base ("LRAFB") and local governments have historically
cooperated to ensure the sustainability of the ongoing mission of LRAFB and its associated local
installations; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville fully supports the ongoing mission at LRAFB and its
associated local installations; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Attorney have been active participants in the development
of the LRAFB Compatible Use Study.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the attached Intergovernmental
Agreement.
SECTION TWO: The Mayor shall act as the primary City of Jacksonville representative
for the LRAFB Regional Planning Committee, with the Public Works Director acting as an
alternative representative.
SECTION THREE: If, for any reason, any portion or portions of this ordinance shall be
held invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions.
SECTION FOUR: All Ordinances and Resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
