A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO
CALL CERTAIN GENERAL HOSPITAL BONDS BEFORE MATURITY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ORDINANCE NUMBER 113.
WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 113 of Jacksonville, A
authorized the issuance of bonds for the purpose of financing
a portion of the cost of acquiring a site for, constructing
and equipping a municipal hospital, levying a tax sufficient
to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds, and pre-
scribing the manner for call and payment of said bonds before
maturity; and
WHEREAS, said bonds were issued in the denomination of
$1,000.00 each, and numbered consecutively from 1 to 172,
inclusive, with maturity dates on July of each year and
callable in inverse order as set forth in Section 3 of said
Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, revenues derived from said tax are in excess of
the amount necessary to insure the prompt payment of principal
of and interest on bonds as they mature, and the paying agent's
fees, and to establish and maintain a reserve for contingencies
in the amount of $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, in pursuance of Ordinance Number 113, such excess
must be used to call the bonds of this issue for payment prior
to maturity in inverse numerical order at par and accrued
interest on or after July 1, 1965; and
WHEREAS, such excess is sufficient to redeem bonds 153 -172
in the total sum of $20,000.00; and whereas, said paying agent
designated by Ordinance Number 113, has duly authorized the
City of Jacksonville by its Mayor and the City Clerk to redeem
said bonds before July 1, 1965, said authorization being attached
hereto and made a part hereof as though set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JACKSONVTTJ,R, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas, be and they are hereby authorized, directed
and ordered to publish notice of the call and redemption and there-
after to call and redeem for payment said bonds 163 -172 for the
year 1990 in the sum of $10,000.00; and bonds 153 -162 for the
year 1989 in the sum of $10,000.00, as provided by Sections 5
and 9 of said Ordinance #113.
