0079 WHEREAS: - x The city council of the city of Jacksonville the need for expended Library facilities for.the City, Ais -e" being awa ;e of efforts by the Jacksonville Chamber of Com- merce to secure land and collect donations sufficient to ' = * insure the construction of said library, and Yom: WHEREAS: ,4 The city has. under its ownership a piece 'of property `i next door to the city hall which has been deemed desirable for such a library by the chairman of the state library commission, and • WHEREAS: The city has certain funds available during the fiscal years 1965 -66 which might la used to further the construction of a library, 't " NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY DOES APPROVE, DEDICATE, and set aside the aforementioned land for the purpose of building a new city library, and does hereby instruct the 4 . Mayor to begin at once to select an architect for the purpose of building the very best type of library building - available for the property, at the lowest possible cost, , and that the city council further goes on record as: '1vP4170; <4 1. Offering herewith a vote of appreciation to the m Chamber of Commerce and to their library committee, in particular to Chairman, Fred Bowen, and finance committee chairman, Tom Wortham, for the very fine job and many long hours that have gone into their committee activity in helping to bring the library drive to this p and; ;` r �" 2.
