AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND JACKSONVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE
§ 2.90.010 TO INCLUDE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONS COMMISSION FOR CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, regular and consistent attendance of the commissioners for the
Jacksonville Advertising and Promotions Commission is essential for the allocation and
administration of funds for the development, establishment, improvement, maintenance,
and operation of recreational and tourist facilities within the City of Jacksonville.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: JMC § 2.90.010 Advertising and Promotions
Commission shall be amended to include the following:
Any member of the Advertising and Promotions Commission who fails to attend
three (3) consecutive regular meetings without being excused by the Commission
Chairman shall be certified to the Mayor as having retired.
SECTION TWO: If any provisions of this Ordinance or the application
thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions of the Ordinance
which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or application, and to this end, the
provisions of the Ordinance are declared to be severable. All Ordinances or parts thereof
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION THREE: It is essential for the Jacksonville Advertising and
Promotions Commission to hold regularly scheduled meetings for the development,
establishment, improvement, maintenance, and operation of recreational and tourist
facilities within the City of Jacksonville; therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and
this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of passage.
