0823RESOLUTION NO. 823 (#08 - 2022) A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND GRANTING MAYOR JOHNSON AND OTHER OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO THE 2023 CALENDAR YEAR PROPORTIONATE SHARE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF MAUMELLE FOR THE PROPORTIONATE SHARE OF ONE-HALF THE BASE SALARY OF THE STATE DISTRICT COURT JUDGE AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Act 1219 of 2011 states that the State of Arkansas shall pay the salary and benefits of state district courtjudges; Act 663 further provides that each county and town or city that has a state district court judgeship created shall pay to the state an amount equal to its proportionate share of one-half (%2) of the base salary established by law for that county and town or city's state district court judge; and WHEREAS, Act 1219 of 2011 established a base salary of $117,300 in 2011 for a state district court judge; and WHEREAS, Act 1219 of 2011 provides that a county and town or city that has a state district court judgeship created may agree in writing on the amount to be paid to the state by the county and town or city for its proportionate share of one-half (%2) of the salary established by law for its state district court judge. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT: SECTION ONE: Pursuant an agreement reached between the Cities of Jacksonville and Maumelle, Arkansas to pay to the state one-half (1/2) of the state court judge's salary, or $58,650, shall be divided as follows: The City of Jacksonville shall pay $36,538.95 and the City of Maumelle shall pay $22,111.05 The Council hereby authorizes Mayor Johnson, City Clerk Davitt, and City Attorney Friedman to execute and complete the appropriate documents required to approve the City of Jacksonville's payments to the state for the 2023 salary of the state court judge. SECTION TWO: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect from and after its date of passage.
