REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING

OPENING REMARKS:
The Planning Commission of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas met in a regular session on April 12, 2021. Chairman Stroud opened the meeting at approximately 6:30 p.m. expressing appreciation
to those in attendance. Chairman Stroud offered the invocation.
ROLL CALL: Commissioners William Montgomery, Billy Hall, Jim Moore, Vivian Brittenum, Jeff Twitty, Dan Brown, Greg Bollen, Chairman Mark Stroud were present and answered ROLL CALL.
Chairman Stroud declared a quorum. PRESENT (8) with Chair, ABSENT (1).
CORRECTION AND/OR APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
PUBLIC HEARING(S): REZONING 321 North Oak Street from R-1 to R-3 Petitioner Wayne Craft
Chairman Stroud opened the public hearing at approximately 6:32 p.m.
Mr. Aaron Robinson of Bond Engineering related that the request consists of two tracts of land being replatted into one tract at a later date, but are requesting the rezoning that would
accommodate a four-plex unit on the property. He then answered that this property is adjacent to duplex property to the rear side.
Commissioner Hall noted that there are apartments and duplexes in the direct vicinity.
Mr. Robinson added that this development would clean the area up and would look nicer. He stated that once they get the rezoning they would return with the site plan. He then answered
Commission Twitty, that a four-plex is considered an apartment.
Mylissa Griggs noted that this request is to get the rezoning accomplished before considerations are developed for the plat and site plan. She noted that there are multi-family properties
in the neighborhood and the City feels that this is a good consistent use of the existing vacant property.
With no one to speak in opposition, Chairman Stroud closed the public hearing at approximately 6:34 p.m.
Commissioner Moore moved, seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the rezoning of 321 North Oak Street from R-1 to R-3. MOTION CARRIED.
