PETITIONER: Jitney Jungle Stores of America, Inc.
Variance requested: Conditional Use for a "Self-service
Gas Station" in a C-2 zoned area

City Clerk Lula M. Leonard recorded those listed above in atten dance and Chairman Brannen declared a quorum.
APPROVAL AND/OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
Commissioner Boroughs moved, seconded by Commissioner Patton that the minutes of the Board of Adjustment Meeting of February 12, 1994 be APPROVED. MOTION CARRIED.
VARIANCE REQUEST: JITNEY JUNGLE "Self-service Gas Station to be located at 315 South James St."
Chairman Brannen presented the conditional use request for the C-2 zoned parcel which is in violation of Chapter 18.44.030 of the Jacksonville Municipal Code.
It was pointed out by a representative of Jitney Jungle that existing drives will be utilized. A site plan was presented showing the proposed location of the pumps. Pictures with regard
to double walled storage tanks also were presented. He said that Jitney Jungle is registered with EPA in Little Rock and that the tanks meet their guidelines and regulations. He pointed
out that the latest thing in leak detection will be in place at the site.
No opposition to the request was presented.
Commissioner Boroughs moved, seconded by Commissioner Patton, that the request made by Jitney-Jungle Stores of America, Inc., for placement of a Self-service Gas Station at 315 South
James St., a Conditional Use in a C-2 zoned area, be APPROVED. MOTION CARRIED.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Brannen adjourned the meeting at approximately 4:25 p.m.
