0797RESOLUTION NO. 797 (908-2.020) A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE JACKSONVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE'S "RESPECT AND PROTECT, WEAR A MASK" INITIATIVE WHEREAS, on June 19, 2020, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), released guidance regarding the use of face masks/coverings by the general public which asserts that ample evidence exists to support the efficacy of wearing face masks to prevent the transmission of COVID- 19 including a World Health Organization (WHO) funded study; and WHEREAS, in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 infections in our state, Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce created signage encourage Jacksonville citizens to wear face masks in indoor settings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS THAT: SECTION ONE: The City Council of Jacksonville, Arkansas supports the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce's "Respect and Protect, Wear a. Mask" initiative and encourage Jacksonville businesses to utilize in this practice. APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 16TH DAY OF JULY, 2020.
