A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND SUPPORTING COACH VIC JOYNER,
THE 5A CENTRAL COACH OF THE YEAR, AND THE 2020 5A CHAMPION (5A)
BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM OF JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL; AND, FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Head Coach Victor Joyner, along with Coaches Monty Patel, Jonathan
Brown, Ty Ferguson, and Athletic Trainer Cody Walker, utilized the Basketball Program to
implement genuine character and integrity and forever impact the lives of young Jacksonville
residents by recently leading the Jacksonville High School Boys Basketball Team to the 2020
Arkansas Boys Basketball Championship.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE: Coach Joyner is to be applauded for his hard work, dedication, and efforts to
implement athleticism, character, and skills to this Championship Team. As a result, Head Coach
Victor Joyner, along with Coaches Monty Patel, Jonathan Brown, Ty Ferguson, and Athletic Trainer
Cody Walker, led these young men to the 2020 Arkansas Boys Basketball Championship AAAAA
(5A). Members of the 2020 JHS Boys Championship Basketball Team should be proud of their
accomplishments this Season and the impact their efforts will have on both their short-term and long-
term life goals. Championship team members are:
• Davonte Davis, 5A State Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP), 5A State All -Tournament
Team, 5A All -State, 5A, Arkansas Democrat Player of the Year, 1 st Team All Arkansas Prep,
MaxPreps All State First Team, Hogville Arkansas High School Boys Co -Player of the Year,
24/7 Sports Co -Player of the Year, Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist, Arkansas Basketball
Coaches Association Top 5 Player of 5A;

SECTION TWO: The Jacksonville City Council encourages other area educators to
model Coach Joyner's winning basketball program and apply the same dedication, efforts,
and commitment to their educational pursuits in the training and development of all
champion students in the City of Jacksonville. Doing so can and will provide champion
students winning character and integrity, leading them throughout and beyond their
educational years into their adult lives.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in effect from and after its date of
passage.
