AN ORDINANCE AMENDING JMC § 204.020, AMENDING THE CUT-OFF
TIME FOR A MATTER TO BE PRESENTED TO THE CITY CLERK FOR
INCLUSION IN THEAGENDA OF THENEXT CITYCOUNCIL MEETING; AND,
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, City officials believe an update to the requirements for the
agenda items submission timeline for council members is needed. As a result, the
City Council believes the following amended provisions and additional requirements
are necessary to enable improvements in the agenda building process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THA T.-
SECTION ONE: IMC §2.04.020 (MATTERS TO BE RULED UPON — FORM)
shall be amended and read as follows:
All matters to be added to the agenda, not requiring an ordinance or resolution, are
to be presented to the City Clerk no later than noon the Friday prior to the next
regular meeting at the City Council or the same shall not be considered at that
meeting. All matters presented orally at any regular meeting of said council shall be
reduced to writing by the City Clerk and presented for action to be taken thereon at
the next regular meeting of the City Council.
All matters to be ruled upon by the City Council are ordered to be prepared in a
form to be approved by the City Attorney and presented to the City Clerk no later
than noon the Friday prior to the next regular meeting at the City Council or the
same shall not be considered at that meeting.
SECTION TWO; All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION THREE; Said Ordinance and the changes included herein shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by
and subject to applicable law.
