1397 ORDINANCE NO, 1397 ( #02 - 10)
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE
OF LASERFICHE SOFTWARE, SETUP, AND MAINTENANCE; COPIERS AND
PRINTERS AND MAINTENANCE FOR VARIOUS OFFICE EQUIPMENT AND
ALL NECESSARY TRAINING FOR CITY EMPLOYEES AND OFFICES; AND,
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville needs Laserfiche software and
maintenance, copiers and printers and maintenance, related equipment, and
training for said equipment; and,
WHEREAS, said Laserfiche software, copiers and printers and maintenance,
related equipment, and training for said equipment are readily available at a
competitive price through Datamax- Micro. Datamax -Micro is the sole and exclusive
source for such and agrees to furnish said Laserfiche software, copiers and printers
and maintenance, related equipment, and appropriate training at a competitive cost
and in a timely manner. As such, the City recommends waiver of competitive
bidding and request that it be allowed to contract with Datamax -Micro to purchase
and secure said needed upgraded system, office equipment, maintenance, and
training.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: Competitive bidding for the purchase of said Laserfiche
software, setup, maintenance, copiers and printers and applicable maintenance, and
related equipment and training for the City would be costly and non - productive,
making said competitive bidding unfeasible and impractical.
SECTION TWO: Competitive bidding is hereby waived, pursuant to ACA
§14 -58 -383, to authorize the purchase of Laserfiche sotware, setup, equipment
and maintenance, copiers and printers and related maintenance, and related
equipment and training for the City. Authorization is hereby given to the Mayor and
City Clerk to enter into a contract with Datamax- Micro, 7400 Kanis Road, Little Rock
Arkansas, for the purchase of said Laserfiche system, copiers, printers, and related
maintenance, equipment and training all for a cost not to exceed One Hundred
Twenty-eight Thousand Three Hundred Fifty -one and 58/100 Dollars ($128,351.58),
together with any applicable tax.
SECTION THREE: All Ordinances, parts of Ordinances, or previous actions
taken by said Council in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.

SECTION FOUR: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage and publication, as provided by and subject to the requirements of
applicable law.
