AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PRIVILEGE TAX OF
TEN (10 %) PER CENT ON ALL COMMERCIAL HAULERS
OF TRASH, GARBAGE AND REFUSE ON THE GROSS
REVENUES OF SAID HAULERS; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE:
SECTION 1: That any person, corporation or association
operating as a commercial hauler of trash, garbage and refuse
operating and providing services within the City of Jacksonville
shall be assessed a privilege tax at the rate of ten (10%) per
cent of their gross revenues for each month that they operate
within the City. Said tax shall be paid on or before the 15th
day of each month and said person's, corporation's or associa-
tion's books shall be open for inspection by the City of Jackson-
ville for the purpose of substantiating the amount of tax being
paid.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and
morale of the citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and the above Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect immediately after its passage.
