AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
LEASE WITH THE JACKSONVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
FOR CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CHAMBER
OF COMMERCE BUILDING; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville desires to assist the
Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to improve
the quality of life and business in Jacksonville; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville deems it necessary and
desirable to lease certain property to the Chamber for the
furtherance of such objectives;
NOW THEREOFRE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE,
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized
to execute on behalf of the City a lease, attached hereto
marked Exhibit A, to the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce for
certain property owned by the City of Jacksonville according
to the terms and conditions contained in the lease.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance being necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and
morale of the citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and the above Ordinance
shall bein full force and effect immediately after its passage.
