AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF TRUCKS OVER ONE -HALF
TON ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, FOR
AN EXTENDED PERIOD, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PUR-
POSES.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to protect the streets of Jack-
sonville from heavy trucks for extended periods of time; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to restrict the parking of un-
attended vehicles on public streets.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AJCKSONVILLE, that:
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person, cor-
poration or association, to park any truck over one -half (1/2)
ton, trailer, house or cargo, without or with the tractor or
towing vehicle attached thereto, on any street of the city
for a period of time longer than one hour at any time, unless
same is being loaded or unloaded.
SECTION 2: Any person, corporation or association
violating the Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof, punished as provided in Chapter 1.20.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance being necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and
morale of the citizens of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and the above Ordi-
nance shall be in full force and effect immediately after its
passage.
