0670 RESOLUTION NO. 670 ( #16 - 2011)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO
THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND TOURISM TO OBTAIN FUNDS
FOR THE PROVISION OR IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC ACCESS FOR THE
OBSERVATION OF ARKANSAS WILDLIFE; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, recognizes the need to provide or
improve public access within the City for observation of Arkansas wildlife. As a result,
the City wishes to apply for Wildlife Observation Trails Grant funds through the Co-
operative Program of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Arkansas
Department of Parks and Tourism; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Council understand that, if granted funds for
development, the Mayor and Council agree to provide land, by lease, ownership, or
other means upon which observation facilities will be developed. Further, if awarded
such a grant, the City will commit by contract to provide necessary resources to
maintain this Observation Park and facilities for a period of no less than Ten (10) years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism on behalf of the City of
Jacksonville for pursuit of Grant funds to provide or improve public access for the
observation of Arkansas wildlife.
SECTION TWO: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict. This Resolution shall be in effect from
and after its date of passage.
