0420 ORDINANCE NO. SR
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ELECTION OF ALDERMEN BY WARDS
IN THE CITY OF' JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. There is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City
of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Section 1. 12.030, which is to read as follows:
Section 1.12.030 Election of Aldermen by Wards: All
aldermen elected in the City shall be elected by the qualified
electors residing in the ward in which candidates for that office
seek election. Qualified electors residing in one ward shall not
be allowed to vote for aldermanic candidates seeking office in
another ward.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective commencing with the
Nocmber, 1978 general election.
