AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING VARIOUS PROPERTIES IN THE CITY
OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 213
AND 238 OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, certain property owners have duly filed petitions for the
rezoning of their properties; public notices have been duly run in the
Jacksonville News, a newspaper having authority to publish notice; public
hearings have been held pursuant to the public notices and at the time and
place set therefor; that the Planning Commission has considered each re-
quest and has made the recommendation that the zone classification be
changed as hereinafter indicated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. The zone classification of the following property be and
is hereby changed as indicated:
A tract of land lying partly within the Southwest Quarter of the
Southwest Quarter (SW% SW /), Section Thirty -one (31), Township Three
(3) North, Range Ten (10) West, and partly within the East Half (E of the
Southeast Quarter (SE%) of Section Thirty -six (36), Township Three (3)
North, Range Eleven (11) West, in Pulaski County, Arkansas, more
particularly described as follows, to -wit:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the Westerly line of U. S.
Highway No. 67 and the Range line between Ranges Ten (10) and Eleven
(11) West, in Township Three (3) North, thence North 3636 East along
said Highway, a distance of 115 feet; thence North 5236 West 90 feet to a
point on the said Range line, which is the point of beginning; thence North
523° West a distance of 695 feet; thence North 474° East a distance of 246
feet; thence South 54° East a distance of 740 feet to a point on the Westerly
line of said Highway No. 67, which is 361 feet North 3610 East from the
intersection of the Westerly line of Highway No. 67 and the Range line be-
tween Ranges 10 and 11 West; thence South 36 West along and with said
Highway a distance of 246 feet; thence North 53 West 90 feet to the point

of beginning, containing 4 -1/3 acres, more or less; and presently known
as Parkwood Mobile Village. Rezoned from Class R -0 to Class R -4; and
Part of the SE /, of Section 35, Township 3 North, Range 11 West,
and of the SW' /a of Section 31, Township 3 North, Range 10 West, Pulaski
County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows, to -wit:
From a point on the North line of the right of way of U. S. Highway
No. 161 (formerly U. S. Highway No. 67), Little Rock - Jacksonville Road
Intersection on the East line of Section 36; run thence North 36 East along
said North line of right of way of said Highway, a distance of 115 feet to an
iron pin and point of beginning; thence North 53% West a distance of 785 feet;
thence South 4715 West, a distance of 85 feet; thence South 53 East, a dis-
tance of 786 feet, more or less, to an iron pin at the North line of the right of
way of said Highway 161; thence North 36 East, a distance of 83 feet of said
right of way line to point of beginning, containing 1.5 acres, more or less.
Rezoned from Class R -1 to Class R -4; and
Lots 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Madden Subdivision to the City of Jacksonville,
Pulaski County, Arkansas. Rezoned from Class C -3 to Class C -4.
Section 2. That the map referred to in Section 601 of Ordinance No.
213 of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, as amended by Ordinance No.
238, and designated official zoning map, should be and hereby is amended
to the extent and in the respects necessary to effect and designate the changes
provided for in Section 1 thereof.
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
Section 4. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate preserva-
tion of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens of
the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after
its passage.
