AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING VARIOUS PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; AMENDING ORDINANCE NOS. 213 AND 238
OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, certain property owners have duly filed petitions for the
re- zoning of their properties; public notices have been duly run in the Jackson-
ville News, a newspaper having authority to publish notice; public hearings
have been held pursuant to public notices and at the time and place set therefor;
that the Planning Commission has considered each request and has made the
recommendation that the zone classification be changed as hereinafter indicated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
SECTION 1. The zone classification of the following property be and
is hereby changed as indicated:
A tract of land lying in the Southwest Quarter (SW%) of Section 18,
Township 3 North, Range 10 West, Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas,
being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwest corner of Lot "4 ", Oakwood Subdivision
(recorded in Plat Book 34, Page 45, Pulaski County Courthouse); thence
South 89 55' West, 55.05 feet to the point of beginning; thence South 89 55'
West, 146.2 feet; thence North 04 45' West, 727.48 feet; thence North 89
34' East, 155.73 feet; thence South 04 17' 20" East, 608.07 feet; thence
South 02 28' East, 119.71 feet to the point of beginning: Containing 2.5
acres, more or less; (rezoned from R -1 to R -3)
AND
Lots 35, 36 and 37 of Dupree's East Jacksonville Addition to the
City of Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas (Kennedy Grocery Property).
(rezoned from R -1 to C -2)
SECTION 2. That the map referred to in Section 601 of the Ordinance
No. 213 of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, as amended by Ordinance No.
238, and designated official zoning map, should be and it is hereby amended

to the extent and in the respects necessary to effect and designate the changes
provided for in Section 1 thereof.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts or ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
SECTION 4. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens of
the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after its pass-
age.
