AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
PURPOSES A PORTION OF SHARP STREET, JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS
(GENERAL 10 CA TION. THA T PORTION OF SHARP STREET FROM WEST MAIN
STREET TO SCHOOL DRIVE, ,JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS); AND, FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville City Council hosted a Public Hearing regarding the
closure for public transportation purposes over Eleven Hundred Forty-two Feet {1,142'} of
Sharp Street on March 16, 2017, with notice duly published as required by law. At said
Public Hearing, written notice had also been forwarded to all adjacent property owners and
utilities companies regarding the closure for public transportation purposes of said
described area, subject to reservation of public easement rights and public and private
utilities.
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY THF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS. -
SECTION ONE,- The real property, more particularly described as follows is:
Part of the Northwest Quarter, Section 30, Township 3 North, Range 10 West, City of
Jacksonville, Pulaski County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Block 11, Crestview Addition, City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas: thence East 60 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 12, of said Crestview
Addition; thence South 1142 feet to a point; thence West 60 feet to the North Right of Way
line of School Drive; thence North 1142 feet to the Northeast corner of Block 11 of the
Crestview Addition and the Point of Beginning, containing 1.57 acres more or less.
(General Location: THAT PORTION OF SHARP STREET FROM WEST MAIN
STREET TO SCHOOL. DRIVE, JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS)
Said Street Right of Way is hereby closed and vacated under the powers granted to Cities
of the First Class in the State of Arkansas, with reservation of said described property for
public purposes other than public transportation Rights of Way and to reserve easement
rights and privileges for private and public utility companies. The Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby duly authorized and directed to execute all necessary documentation to accomplish
such and make public record of the change in nature of said real property as described
above. Said documentation shall close said public transportation Right of Way, and said
real property shall be converted to a public purpose so that the Jacksonville North Pulaski
School District can utilize said property for educational purposes and as otherwise needed.

SECTION TWO; A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk,
shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of the County and recorded in the Deed Records
of the County, hereby amending the plat recorded on November 1, 1920, in the Pulaski
County Circuit Clerk Records.
SECTION THREE; All Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of said conflict.
SECTION FOUR. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
passage and publication, as provided by and subject to the requirements of applicable law.
