RESOLUTION NO. 664 ( #10 - 2011)
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE
TO SUBMIT A GRANT FUND APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
FOR A JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT TO OBTAIN A SPEX FORENSICS
AUTOMATED FINGERPRINT /PALM PRINT SYSTEM AND FIFTEEN (15) SEMI-
AUTOMATIC RIFLES FOR THE JACKSONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND,
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, because the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, is applying to the
Department of Justice for a Justice Assistance Grant (JAG), certain conditions must be
met as part of the application requirement; and,
WHEREAS, the Jacksonville Police Department has identified and prioritized needs
to support various components of the Department's criminal justice system to include a
SPEX Forensics Automated Fingerprint /Palm Print System and Semi - automatic rifles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Department of Justice on behalf of the Jacksonville Police Department
and to expend such grant funds if awarded in the procurement of a SPEX Forensics
Automated Fingerprint /Palm Print System and Fifteen (15) Semi- automatic rifles so as to
better provide for the safety and welfare of the citizens of Jacksonville.
SECTION TWO: Any and all Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of said conflict.
