0663 RESOLUTION NO. 663 ( #09 - 2011)
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE TO
UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID ENHANCEMENT FUNDS FOR THE MARSHALL ROAD SIDEWALK
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PHASE I; AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, for public safety and improved pedestrian access, certain improvements are
necessary to Marshall Road in the City of Jacksonville; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Jacksonville understands Federal -aid Surface Transportation
Enhancement funds are available at an Eighty Percent (80 %) Federal participation and Twenty
Percent (20 %) Local Cash Match for the Marshall Road Sidewalk Improvement Project, Phase 1,
during the 2011 -2012 FY federal budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION ONE: The City will participate in accordance with its designated
responsibilities in this Project, including ongoing maintenance of this Project, and pledges its full
support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to
initiate action to implement this Project.
SECTION TWO: The Mayor or his designated representative(s) is hereby
authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to
expedite the construction of this City Project.
SECTION THREE: Any and all other Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of said conflict, which shall be in effect from and after its passage.
