ORDINANCE NO. S
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE ESTABLISH. MENT OF A BUDGET FOR
THE OPERATION OF THE WATERWORK AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS OF
THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; PRESCRIBING OTHER MAT-
TERS RELATING THERETO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City
of Jacksonville, Arkansas (hereinafter called "City ") that there is a need to
establish budgets for the operation of the City Water Department and Sewer
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
SECTION 1. The Mayor shall, on or before October 1st of each
year, appoint two aldermen to work with the individual departmental sup° r-
visors to prepare, with the assistance and advice of the departmental heads,
a detailed budget for the operation of the City's Water and Sewer Departments
for the following fiscal year and the Mayor shall submit the proposed budget for
approval to the City Council no later than November 15th of each year.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of any such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance being necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety, welfare and morale of the citizens
of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this ordinance shall have full force and effect immediately after its
passage.
