ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF A MUNICIPAL COURT. PROBA-
TION OFFICER BY THE CITY. OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JACKSON-
VILLE, ARKANSAS, that:
Section 1. The City Council shall have the authority to hire
a probation officer to work with the Municipal Courts of the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas and of the City of Sherwood, Arkansas for a
salary of per annum.
Section 2. Said probation officer shall be selected by the
City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas from recommenda-
tions submitted by the Mayor and /or Municipal Judge of. the City
Council of Jacksonville, Arkansas and may be removed from his office
of employment by a majority vote of said City Council.
Section 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid
or unconstitutional, such portion shall be deemed a separate, dis-
tinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions hereof.
Section 4. This ordinance being necessary for the preserva-
tion of the health, safety and general welfare, an emergency is
declared to exist and this ordinance shall take full force and ef-
fecti.mmediately upon its passage.
