WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas authorized the Mayor of said City to enter into an
offer and acceptance agreement with the heirs of Blanche Bailey,
Deceased, for the purchase of certain lands within the City of
Jacksonville, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, the said Mayor did on the 19th day of October,
1962, enter into said agreement; and
WHEREAS, abstract of title for said lands was brought down
to date; examined by the City Attorney, and owners found to have
good and merchantable title; and
WHEREAS, a Warranty Deed has been duly executed and acknow-
ledged by the heirs of Blanche Bailey, Deceased, conveying to the
City of °acksonville, Arkansas, the land in question;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS; That:
Mayor John H. Harden, be and he is hereby authorized to
accept said Warranty Deed on behalf of the city of Jacksonville,
which Deed eonveys good and merchantable title of Lot Nine (9)
and the West half (Wh) of Lots Seven and Eight (7 & 6) in Block
Twenty -Six (26) of the Original Town of Jacksonville, to the
City of 'Jacksonville; and
The City Clerk, Mrs. Floy Avants, be and she is hereby
authorized and directed to have the said deed recorded in the
permanent records of Pulaski County, Arkansas; and
The City Treasurer, Mr. John Rich, be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to draw a draft (or drafts) against the
City Treasury in the total sum of 47,000.00 for the purchase
of said lands; and in the further sum of 4115.00 to cover the
cost to Beach Abstract Company of Little Rock, Arkansas, for
services rendered in furnishing to the City of *Jacksonville an
abstract of title to said lands covering chain of title to the
date of purchase; and
Mayor John H. Harden, be and he is further authorized and
directed to pay and deliver over to the heirs of Blanche Bailey,
Deceased, the said total sum of 47,000.00 as full payment for the
purchase of said land; and to pay the sum of 4115.00 to Beach
Abstract Company.
