AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 72
OF THE CITY OP JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS.
DE XT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas:
Section 2. Ordinance No, 72 of the City of Jacksonville,
Arkansas, which provides for the appointment by the Mayor of
a City Marshal with the approval of the Council, is hereby
repealed.
Section 2. It has been found and is declared by the
City Council of the City of Jacksonville, Arkansas, that
there is a serious inadequacy of 'police protection in the
City of Jacksonville, Arkansas; that there is urgent need
to remedy this need; that adoption of this Ordinance will
aid in providing for adequate police protection. Therefore,
an emergency is declared to exist, and this Ordinance, being
necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health
and safety, shall take effect and be in force from the date
of its passage.
